The Boise Pharmacotherapy Resident Forum is designed to assist and faciliate Pharmacy residents (PGY1 and PGY2) in the Boise area to gather and formally present clinically relevant topics. The goal of Pharmacotherapy Rounds is to enhance the participants's knowledge regarding the use of drug therapy to treat and prevent disease. Participants will learn to evaluate the scientific literature and discuss its applicability to clinical practice. Participants will learn to present the complex concepts and scientific data in a clear and concise manner.
Clinicial Pharmacy Residents will be expected to utlize and apply the knowledge from such diverse areas as pharmacology, therapeutics, drug information, pharmacokinetics, pharmacoeconomics, and clinical practice. Additionally, writing and presentation skills will be emphasized. These skills will be obtained through the following formats:
Pharmacotherapy Rounds will be held Wednesday afternoons from 3:00 - 5:00 PM and the location will vary (Saint Alphonsus, St. Luke's, Boise VA Medical Center, and Ladd Family Pharmacy) depending on the presenter's practicing facility and coordinator schedule. The audience will consist of phamacy residents, pharmacy practitioners, pharmacy students, and invited guests.
