- Current: Monday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 PM or Saturday from 1 to 2 PM (closed holidays)
Eligibility: First 15 people who register AND pay. Additional classes may be added if enough interest. Start at any time with purchase of a 6 class card that can be used over 8 weeks. The card is date stamped so when purchased expires 8 weeks from that next session.
Cost: New people pay $28.00 and get 6 classes ($60 value as Ladd Family Pharmacy covers FREE 2 classes and subsidizes remaining). Repeat customers pay $42.00 and get 6 classes, but get 8 weeks to use them. If customers miss a week or even two, there is still the opportunity to use it. Drop in is $9.00 per class.

Personalized Fitness Classes
A 4-week, 60 minute customized exercise basics class combining full body conditioning, stretching, balance, and stabilization training.
Instructor: Courses taught by Personal Trainer.

Turkey Day of Giving - November 13 and 14, 2009
Ladd Family Pharmacy's 2nd annual fall 2009 community outreach is in partnership with the Idaho Food Bank. Anyone can donate a frozen turkey or dollars towards their purchase. The two day event (7 AM to 7 PM) on 11/13 and (10 AM to 1 PM) helped collect over $5,000 in food for those in need this holiday season.
Door Prizes and FREE Flu Shots are offered along with gift card giveaways, special in-store discount coupons, and more. Anyone donating is eligible.
Special thanks goes to News Talk 670 KBOI radio who is helping raise awareness for the event.
During the 2008 holiday season, The Idaho Food Bank distributed 1,481,362 pounds of food to their partner agencies. In 2009 their need is up 30%!!

Approximately 17,300 different people in Idaho receive emergency food assistance in any given week.
32% of the members of households in Idaho are children under 18 years old
10% of the members of households are children under the age of 6
4% of the members of households are elderly
44% of the members households include at least one employed adult
26% are homeless
Among all client households served by emergency food programs in Idaho, 85% are food insecure (in a state of being unable to provide food for oneself or family)
42% of the clients are experiencing hunger
Among households with children, 85% are food insecure and 35% are experiencing hunger
55% of clients in Idaho report having to choose between paying for food and paying for utilities
34% had to choose between paying for food and paying their rent or mortgage
36% had to choose between paying for food and paying for medicine or medical care
Our goal is to help those in need in the communities where we live and work. That is why the Annual Food Drive is so important and why it needs all of us participating to be successful.

Humphreys Diabetes Center Weight Loss Challenge - January to June 2010
Ladd Family Pharmacy's 2010 community outreach is in partnership with the Humphreys Diabetes Center. All proceeds will be directed to Humphreys Diabetes Center, a non-profit organization.
The $10,000 Treasure Valley Weight Loss Challenge will award a total of $10,000 to the top three men and women who lose the biggest percentage of weight -- $3,000 to each top male and female, $1,500 to each 2nd place male and female, and $500 to each 3rd place male and female
Participation is easy. Individuals sign up, weigh in and pay a $50 registration fee between January 9-23 at Ladd Family Pharmacy in Boise or at Humphreys Diabetes Centers in Meridian. Groups of 5 or more can signup for $45/each.

There are two easy ways to signup for the Treasure Valley Weight Loss Challenge:
Read the rules and regulations, download and fill out the registration form and bring it to the weigh-in on January 9th registration kick off. Registration fee will be paid at the event kick off.

Pre-register and pay your entry fee now. Then bring your receipt with you to expedite your initial weigh-in between Jan. 9-23 at Ladd Family Pharmacy or Humphreys Diabetes Centers in Boise or Meridian.
Each week (January - June) Challenge participants receive fun nutrition and exercise tips via email and info on the latest activities – walks, runs, shopping tours, pedometer fun 101 -- to keep folks motivated to lose the weight and stay active.
Monthly weigh ins (first two weeks of each month) will be held at Ladd Family Pharmacy and Humphreys Diabetes Center locations June through October. Get weighed in a setting with privacy and also receive tips and special offers.
The final weigh-in and cash awards will be held in June. Please call the Pharmacy (947-0877) with any questions.
